Locations of Amazon Fulfillment Centers in Germany
The Amazon Fulfillment Centers are located across Germany in Graben (Augsburg), Leipzig, Werne, Pforzheim, Brieselang, Koblenz, and Rheinberg. In addition, there are two locations in Bad Hersfeld. These nine locations in Germany employ more than 11,000 people. The large number of employees illustrates the high demand for products ordered through Amazon. Amazon Logistikzentrum Bad Hersfeld (FRA1)

The Amazon Logistics Center in Brieselang (BER3) opened in 2013 and is the newest Amazon location. The logistics center covers an area of 65,000 m2 or 10 football fields.

The Amazon Logistics Center Rheinberg (DUS2) is the westernmost Amazon logistics center in Germany. It is located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, so that orders can reach the important cities in the Ruhr area as quickly as possible.

Amazon Logistikzentrum Graben (MUC3)
In Graben near Augsburg stands one of the largest logistics centers of Amazon in Germany. There are six warehouses in Graben (MUC3), which has a direct connection to DHL. 110,000 square meters or 17 football fields storage area.

Amazon invests in Germany
A new cutting-edge Fulfillment Center will begin operation in Werne in the spring of 2017. The new, fully air-conditioned building will be equipped with the newest material-handling technology. The new Amazon Fulfillment Center in Dortmund (DTM2) will begin operation at the end of 2017. The new center at Frankenthal (FRA7) will also open at the end of 2017. These new locations supplement the 31 Fulfillment Centers that Amazon already operates in Europe.
New ideas for the future
In 2015 the Amazon Fulfillment Centers granted more than 800 employees permanent contracts. Innovative jobs and continuing development are a matter of course at Amazon. Processes are continuously refined in order to provide customers with better service and to provide the employees with a better workplace.
Amazon Picking Challenge
With the Amazon Picking Challenge, the company is aiming to always adopt, develop, and implement new ideas for the Amazon Fulfillment Centers. There is even a Robo Cup, which is a competition between employees and robots. Even though robotics technology already supports logistics globally, Amazon is working toward more effective interaction with it.
