Listing Optimization

Listing optimization is the systematic improvement of a Product Detail Page's title, bullets, A+, images, and back-end keywords to maximise relevance, CTR, and CVR. AMALYZE's AI listing tools audit, optimise, and generate listings from search-term data.

Listing optimization is the recurring work of tuning every element of a Product Detail Page so it ranks for the right queries, earns the click, and converts the visit. It is the highest-leverage activity in Amazon marketing — a listing fix lifts both paid CVR and organic CVR simultaneously, while bid changes only move paid.

The three jobs of a listing

  1. Match the query. Title and back-end keywords carry the relevance signal.
  2. Win the click. Main image and price beat the alternatives in the search result.
  3. Convert the visit. Bullets, images, A+, video, reviews close the order.

A listing that fails any one of the three loses the funnel at that step. Optimisation is the diagnostic plus the fix.

Audit framework

A defensible listing audit grades each module against benchmarks and ASIN history:

ModulePass benchmark
Main image≥85% pixel fill, white BG, legible at 200px
TitlePrimary keyword in first 80 chars, brand + key benefit
Bullets5 bullets, benefit-led, scannable, no walls of text
A+ ContentHero banner + comparison chart + brand story
Images≥7 images, 1 lifestyle, 1 scale, 1 infographic
VideoPresent (raises CVR 5–15% typical)
Back-end keywords249 bytes filled, no duplication of front-end

AMALYZE's AI audit grades these automatically and flags the lowest-impact module to fix first.

AI-assisted generation

Modern listing optimisation starts from search-term data, not from a copywriter's instinct. The harvested keyword set (keyword harvesting) becomes the input to AI generation: prioritised by impressions × CVR, deduplicated, then woven into title + bullets + back-end with relevance scoring.

This swaps the old workflow (copywrite → guess at keywords) for a data-first workflow (rank keywords → generate copy that covers them).

Cadence

  • Quarterly: full audit and refresh on top-decile ASINs.
  • Monthly: image and A+ rotation tests on top-decile.
  • Triggered: any ASIN whose CVR drops >25% week-over-week.

Common mistakes

  • Re-optimising too often. Listings need 14–21 days for ranking signals to settle after a change.
  • Optimising for keywords nobody searches. Volume comes from query data, not gut.
  • Ignoring back-end keywords. Up to 249 bytes are invisible to shoppers and visible to the algorithm.
  • Skipping A+ comparison chart. The single highest-impact A+ module.
